Giveaway Gift.

Ive been saying for the past couple of weeks that i was intending to do a giveaway as a small thank you for all who follow my blog and show an interest in what i make. This is the piece of work which is up for grabs.

Based on a Tudor jewellery casket, this piece has been made using Bone/Ivory and is also lined with red material which came from a broken Victorian jewellery box.

Inside sits a beautiful Rare welsh smokey quartz gemstone which i had cut around 20 years ago i actually had two cut from the same piece of quartz i had, the other remains in my personal collection.

The outer dimensions of this piece are 20mm square, the inside measures 15mm.

All you have to do to stand a chance of winning this wonderful small treasure is be a follower of my blog and leave me a comment saying why you would like to own it simple as that!
The winner will be picked at random and announced on the 26th November 2011.

Best of luck to everyone.    Tony.

  2. I always feel a little guilty when commenting for a give away, because I don't usually comment on regular blog entries. But I'm a lurker, I look, read and love your blogs and I admire your work.
I love that you incorporate materials that have such a history into your miniature artwork. Things that had a live before, and are now starting a new live. I love miniature because I feel a wonderfull piece, handcrafted of such skill and quality, will survive it's time, it will be inherited or collected and it will continue to be admired. This piece has a history and a story to it allready eventhough it's just been made, and it will write a much longer history still because of the beauty of it all.
I would love to own your jewelry casket for these reasons, it would be a gem in my miniature collection.

  4. I've love to be entered for your give-away. To own a piece such as this created by such a craftsman is surely an honour. The fact that each piece created stems from a medium that already has a history has to be a treasure. It would take pride of place in my Netherton.

  5. Tony, it is wonderful, your work is so original and different from other people's work. I would love to win this piece and give it a special place in my dollhouse, the man of the house has traveled all over the world and has collected quite a few interesting artifacts, your casket will fit in perfectly.

  18. What you made is absolutely stunning.
When you said you would do a giveaway, since then I've wondered what it would be.
I had not expected something so beautiful.
I asked myself why I want something so beautiful in my possession.
That is actually a difficult question.
I'm just very impressed with what you make.
And I am a bit modest.
As a child, I collected gems.
    I had a whole collection.
    Still I have this collection.
The thought that I would win a beautiful box with a rare quartz, makes my heart beating faster.
I would of course put it my display next to my few other beautiful old and antique gadgets and occasionally I would put in my miniature house, to create the atmosphere that once the jewelry box came from England in the 16th century in possession of the wealthy merchant and from generation to genaratie ultimately owned by the current occupant of my miniature house.

    I keep my fingers crossed

    Best regards, Alexandra

  23. wow so many comments but, this piece is deserving of all the praise.

I have said it before but I love the provenance that comes with each piece, the history is almost tangible in each creation.
If I were lucky enough to win this piece it would become an heirloom in it's own right, my youngest would inherit as she loves history as much as I do and would treasure this piece also

  24. What an amazing piece this is again! It is a very special piece considering the material used and the skill necessary to put it together. I can hardly believe that you can part with it. Something like this should be in a museum, and I would consider myself truly lucky (and humbled) if "Lady Luck" would choose me. It is very generous of you to give it away.

  72. Woah~! This looks amazing! It's my first time seeing a miniature made out of bones and ivory pieces...

I'm guessing it's because it's a exotic material? :x Or it might simply be because I've only just discovered the miniature world like six months ago~

Anyway, returning to why I'd love to own it, partly it's because of the exquisite look, and partly it's because of the gemstone that's personally cut... You reminded me of my Runescape game character :x

Even if I don't win it, I'm hooked on your site already~ =D Thanks for the chance though~ =D
