Sewing box update.

Just a quick post to let you all see how things are progressing.

Hopefully by the weekend it should be complete including the interior I'm guessing its not going to be to everyone's taste but it was either do as i have done in the photograph or not complete the piece at all. One thing i do like now is how the black velvet on the inside blends in with the black dye on the outside it seems to make the piece flow better as opposed to being a stark contrast.

  1. Hello Tony, in spite of everything what happend, your "disaster", it turned out well. As I said before:I liked the white ivory color very much, but this is also very very nice. It is just what you said: the black velvet inside now blends excellent with the black colored outside:I agree.
Have a nice week and I hope this weekend to see photos of another beautiful "miniature-treasure"!

  5. May be you wont believe me but I truly like it more now. It looks older and well used and much more real. A wonderful piece, Rosanna

  6. I actually prefer the aged look. It conveys far more history and service to its owner. This is primarily why I love your pieces so much

  7. I didn't think that I would say this, but the little disaster may have been a blessing in disguise! I'm sure the shock was a terrible one, but the outcome is absolutely gorgeous. So you had to take a little detour, and it turned out wonderful!

  8. Great recovery plan!

The contrast has brought out a lot of depth of detail and created further focal points of interest. It has far more complexity than the monochromatic version.

  10. Tony, I have to agree with the others... I actually like this version better than the pure white exterior! I think the black edges give it more definition and make the scale of the piece feel more real.... There is more detail as there probably would have been on a full scale one. I know it was a shock... but it has turned out Really Beautifully! Not destroyed at all!
